The Lord of Lords assumed the mold of man

And formed a bridge between both us and God.

His perfect life became the perfect plan

To bring salvation to a world thus flawed.

The hosts of angels shouted songs of joy

When Mary brought Him forth into the world;

The precious Prince of Peace was now a boy;

Within His mother’s arms our hope was curled.

Our Savior Jesus Christ was born to serve

Both God and man up to His final breath.

He gave His life for us who don’t deserve,

Then rose again defeating hell and death.

This perfect child within the manger lay

Still perfect and alive this latter day!

If you can’t curb your temper or your tongue

How can you be entrusted with the Word?

The devil will provoke you with his dung

Until you lose control with anger stirred.

You can’t control what others say and do,

And none can make you feel a certain way.

With prayer and discipline you can get to

Restraint in what you do and what you say.

Increase your love for God until it glows,

Til humbleness replaces selfish ways.

The spirit of the Lord both thrives and grows

Within an attitude of faith and praise.

Trust Him alone, He’s always by your side.

When you were still a slave and doomed to death,

The Savior bought you with His very life.

He chose you for His own, your pulse and breath,

Ordained to follow Him through sweat and strife.

When you were Spirit-filled and born anew,

He showed you how to love and live and pray,

Then sent you out to search the whole world through

To find the lost before they slip away.

The souls that come to Him must be matured

To carry on the work He’ll have them do.

Whatever you’re in need of rest assured,

Just ask the Father, He will see you through.

Christ chose you, He ordained you, You are His,

A slave to Jesus now, and all He is.

Critique of Matthew Vines’s video “God and the Gay Christian: The Biblical Case in Support of Same-Sex Relationships”

If you are reading this blog for the first time, I’d like to let you know in a nutshell what this particular series of discourses is in reference to. There is a gentleman by the name of Matthew Vines who has started a movement called the Reformation Project which states that it is a “Bible-based, Christian non-profit organization that seeks to reform church teaching on sexual orientation and gender identity”. In simpler terms the Reformation Project seeks to rewrite the Bible enough that same-sex relationships will be accepted into mainstream Christianity.
