3-31-15 In My Darkness

Back of the Choir

lament

I wake to silly music in my head

And when I try to pray it hangs around.

How pitiful I am to be misled

By such a meaningless and petty sound!

In honesty, I don’t know what to say,

For who am I to speak a word to God?

I get down on my knees, begin to pray,

The things I say just proves that I’m a fraud.

There’s darkness in my mind down to my soul

And I feel dead inside most of the time.

Oh Jesus, I need You to take control!

Please teach me what to say, please help me climb.

The Spirit intercedes with wordless groans. *

Why would I ever think that I’m alone?

~~~~~~~~~~~
Teach us what we shall say unto Him;
for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.
3-30-15 Neither Fail Nor Forsake
Back of the Choir
alone
I AM your God, and I will always BE,
I do not sleep, I do not slumber, too.
I watch a star evolve, I watch a flea,
I watch the universe; I’m watching you.
I will not fail you; you can count on Me.
I always keep the promises I make.
I know that life has its adversity;
I won’t abandon you when love’s at stake.
I did not leave when Adam fell from grace,
I never did forsake the prophets bold.
I was with Jesus til sin took His place;
I was with Him when death failed to take hold.
Relax, My child, You’ll never be alone
I AM your God, and you are all My own.
~~~~~~~~~~~

I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

3-29-15 He Knew

Back of the Choir

cross-of-christ

Before the earth and sun and stars He was;

Created everything with love and grace;

Before the first was written knew the laws;

Ere Adam breathed He knew the human race.

He also knew the sin that would abound

To keep the soul of man apart from God;

He knew He had to come to earth uncrowned,

To be a man not knowing sin or fraud.

He had to live a life unblemished so,

The perfect sacrifice for sin undone.

He knew that on the cross His blood would flow

And when He died salvation thus begun.

This man we know as Jesus knew that He

Would give us hope through Him to set us free.

~~~~~~~~~~~
And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins;
and in him is no sin.
3-28-15 Give Account
Back of the Choir
accountable
The final Judgment Day will come too soon
To those who did not think that it will be,
When every knee shall bow and tongue shall croon
With praises to the Lord for all to see.
Then we shall give account to Christ the judge,
Our secrets all laid bare before the Word,
The lustful thought, the hatred and the grudge,
The curse, the promise broken will be heard.
We’ll also be reminded of the good,
The helping hand, the love, the warm embrace,
The friends we led to Jesus when we could,
The times we were forgiving, full of grace.
We all will give account on Judgment Day.
It’s not too late: get right with Christ today!
~~~~~~~~~~~

So then every one of us

shall give account of himself to God.

3-27-15 Increase and Abound

Back of the Choir

soup

May Jesus cause your spirit to abound

As He becomes more present in your life,

To make the gospel message to be found

Among the mass of men who live in strife.

As Christ abides in you may love increase,

To be a servant of humanity,

Not thinking of yourself, providing peace,

To show that Jesus lives for all to see.

May God give grace on all you say and do,

And may you live in gratitude each day;

May your love grow like our love grows toward you

And Spirit to expand each time you pray.

When you give of yourself unselfishly

The light of Christ will spark a jubilee.

~~~~~~~~~~~
And the Lord make you to increase and abound
in love one toward another,
and toward all men,
even as we do toward you
3-26-15 Greatest in the Kingdom
Back of the Choir
jesus-girl
The greatest in the kingdom is the least:
A little child without pretentious claim
Who waits until the guests have left the feast
To have the smallest portion all the same.
A little child is humble, kind and shy,
Who lives to hear his Father’s loving call
Then runs into His arms not asking why,
Expecting no reward or gift at all.
The child of God thinks nothing of himself,
Without the selfishness of evil’s sting,
And leaves his own needs high upon the shelf,
Reliant on His God for everything.
            Whoever’s humble as a little child
            Is greatest in the kingdom, meek and mild.
            ~~~~~~~~~~~

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child,

the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

3-25-15 God, You are Holy

Back of the Choir

holy

O Lord, my God, You’re holy, good and just;

There is not any wickedness in You.

You have no room for those who say they must,

No matter the excuse or point of view.

Sometime You do permit a sin to flower,

Although there is no pleasure on Your part,

To magnify Your Mercy, Grace and Power

To bring us to salvation in Your heart.

You loved us though we once were sinners lost;

That’s why You sent Your Son, a sinless man,

Becoming sin itself, His life the cost

To bring about Your perfect, steadfast plan.

There is no evil that can dwell with You.

With gratitude I worship You anew!

~~~~~~~~~~~
For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness:
neither shall evil dwell with thee.
3-24-15 One From Two
Back of the Choir
manandwoman
Both man and woman did the Lord create
To compliment each other perfectly,
So when it comes for one to take a mate
Look on the other to make harmony.
When God made Eve from Adam it was good,
For man was not designed to be alone.
God made her from his side it’s understood
So he would have a helper, not to own.
Then mankind can’t survive with man on man,
And woman can’t conceive from woman, too.
The human race needs both, for that’s God’s plan;
Together to become as one from two.
As she is made for him and he for her,
The union of them both new life occurs.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman,

neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.

1 Corinthians 11:11 KJV

3-23-15 Abide in Me

Back of the Choir

abideime

You are the branch, I am the vine, you see.

If you would bear good fruit, Abide in Me.

You seek the truth, the truth will set you free.

If you would know the truth, Abide in Me.

Love God with all you have, we both agree.

If you would love Him more, Abide in Me.

Just call on Me and I will hear your plea.

To have whate’er you ask, Abide in Me.

You must keep My commandment, that’s the key.

To love as I love you, Abide in Me.

The way to Heaven has just one decree:

To walk the streets of gold, Abide in Me.

I am the way, the truth, the life to thee.

To rest within My arms, Abide in Me.

3-22-15 Straining at Gnats

Back of the Choir

gnat camel

Now pray you don’t remain a hypocrite!

The blind that lead the blind into a ditch,

Who tells the world you surely will commit

But won’t begin until you strike it rich.

Don’t be the one who points your finger out

To judge the man that breaks the smallest rule,

But when no one is looking goes about

To disregard them all and think you’re cool.

Please don’t continue turning up your nose

As if your toilet smells like baby’s breath.

The stench that comes from you is not a rose;

You think you are alive but reek of death.

I ought to know a hypocrite by now:

I am the first in line to disavow.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat,
and swallow a camel.
