Jay T Harding

Jay lives on the banks of the Tennessee River in Northwest Alabama in the toes of the Appalachia mountains. He served with honor and pride in the US Army from 1977 to 1986 as a Medic and enjoyed a lifetime of service in the healthcare industry.  He has always been drawn to the world of taxicabs and at one time drove an original Checker cab.  He has seven children, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and hopes someday to be able to have them all under one roof.  He attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  He is a Christian who has an insatiable thirst to know God’s will, and currently is a student in the Stephen Gray Ministries School of Discipleship.

The latest book by Jay is ‘Devotions for the Child of God: A Year of Sonnetized Scriptures,’ available on Amazon and Kindle. It  is austere in form but powerful in substance. This perennial daily devotional is designed with scripture, prayer and a sonnet specifically crafted to help the reader better understand a verse each day of the year. It will be a favorite for both the newly saved and serious Biblical scholars.

Jay’s book, Sonnets in the Key of Christ (and other scriptural devotions)’ is also available on Amazon and Kindle. It is poetry for and about Christians in the name and love of Christ; ‘Sonnets in the Key of Christ’ is rapturous, intimate, bold in the Word and filled to overflowing with guidance from the Holy Spirit. Half of the poems are sonnets, fourteen lines long, structured in the  Shakespearean rhyme scheme, the others an eclectic mix of poetic styles. Every poem of ‘Sonnets in the Key of Christ’ is accompanied with a verse of scripture from the Bible designed to glorify and magnify  Christ and God. The book is filled with love, compassion and understanding and will sometimes speak directly to you as you go through the trials and victories of your life. ‘Sonnets in the Key of Christ (and other scriptural devotions)‘ speaks of faith and love and praise and surrender and over one hundred other topics spanning the entire spectrum of Christian life. Whether you are newly born in Jesus’ name or have been a child of God for years, you will enjoy reading it. It will migrate to brick and mortar stores as demand dictates. ‘Sonnets in the Key of Christ (and other scriptural devotions)’ is about God’s love, about prayer, about doubt and assurance, about your relationship with Christ and about salvation.

Jay’s  first book, a horror novel, OOBERS: Kalamazoo, through Murder of Crows Publishing, takes you to the very core of evil as he pushes the envelope onto the floor and stomps on it. This book was written before Jay became a dedicated Christian, and reflects the depths of human depravity.  Not for the faint of heart.

So what’s the next step for you Jay? Know him with ever greater Wisdom, love Him evermore deeply and serve Him in His Divine Will-in ways you would never choose nor could imagine? I think The Lord has big things in store for you; and you thought your conversion was big enough! He is amazing and 20+years on the journey it has only become more so. For anyone who is not feeling on “fire” with Love for Him, like Jay is, I recommend the Novena to the Sacred Heart to implore His help.

I want Christ to live through me so fully that there is no more room left for me. If He wants me to break this keyboard over my knees and start digging ditches tomorrow I will be the shovel itself. The next step for me? To serve Him even more by serving others even more. It matters not to me what lies ahead, precious friend and sister in Christ, it is the kiss of NOW that drives me out of myself and into the essence of divine love: Obedience and Service.

Now that strikes every chord in me and I know you speak the truth! Yes, you are truly a brother in Christ; blessed, hand-picked and full of the Holy Spirit. God bless you abundantly on your journey to sanctification. In the Name of the Father, the Son and of the HolySpirit. Amen.

    Jay,

Brother, I would like to use the picture of Jesus depicting One Body – One Spirit on a simple website displayed to illustrate just that. Please let me know if this is alright and if not where I could get this permission.

    Brother Steve
